Glen Cove Public Library + City of Glen Cove Veterans Affairs Office collaborate to present the Resources For Veterans Program with the goal to help veterans and their families in Glen Cove find resources and connect to eligible benefits and services.
VetNow provides free online veterans assistance navigation, resume/cover letter preparation, job coaching, and academic coaching with live, on-demand help by veterans. Schedule an appointment with a librarian to learn how best to use this database.

Nassau County provides vehicles to transport residents to and from the Northport VA, East Meadow Clinic, Valley Stream Clinic, and Hicksville Vet Center Monday – Friday from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm. The Transportation Department of the Veterans Service Agency can be reached at 516-572-6526. The agency is also looking for volunteer drivers for veterans – a valid NYS driver’s license is required.
Since 2003, America’s VetDogs has trained and placed specially trained guide and service dogs for disabled veterans and active-duty service members. Their mission is to team each individual with a dog that will allow them to regain their pride and self-reliance and live without boundaries. VetDogs has two specific programs for veterans: PTSD Service Dogs and Specialized Facility Dogs. All services are provided free of charge to clients — this includes the service dog, transportation to and from their campus in Smithtown, New York, instruction, and more.
